Sales Executive is responsible to locate and quote new sales opportunities to contractors as well as new and existing customers including end user clients. Products include but are not limited to Fire Alarm, Nurse Call, Access Control, Camera Surveillance, Mass Notification, Intrusion Detection, Intercom and Paging, Voice/Data/Fiber, Telephone and Voice Mail, Video / Telepresence, Pro-Sound and Audio / Video. The sales executive is responsible for building relationships and knowing the market and competition to better position GAI to secure the opportunities. Upon securing the contract, process the job SREL for management approval.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Establish new business contacts and nurture them into new clients and opportunities
Work with current customers to secure new work
Work up bid summaries for pricing
Provide bid updates to management
Meet with estimators to review jobs and opportunities
Prepare, deliver, and negotiate proposals
Decide what opportunities best fit GAI to win. This is based on relationship with contractors, specifications and our ability to meet them, current work load and what the future opportunity for Moves, Adds and Changes.
Check on current jobs to verify they are on schedule and in budget.
Visit jobs as required for meetings and to verify we are meeting scope requirements.
Visit prospective customers.
Process job SREL upon acceptance of proposals
Follow up as required on past due Accounts Receivable
Follow up on submittal status
Maintain CEU’s for licensure and NICET
Complete equipment lists on SREL as required for fast track jobs
Verify equipment has been ordered/received
Verify engineering has been completed
Update start/completion dates
Review new products and models
Delivery of equipment to job sites
Other duties as assigned by Director of Sales
Job Qualifications and Skills:
Minimum High School education, higher education preferred
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
Have a willingness to be team oriented
Outgoing personality, willing to speak in front of a group
Customer service minded
Have closing skills
Ability to negotiate contracts
Work to meet company set performance goals for margins and total sales
Meet monthly sales quota
Work with other sale staff as required to help cover their territory to provide quotes as needed
Work Place Environment:
Large percentage of time is office or corporate settings
Job requires occasional job site visits, which may require wearing hard hats, safety glasses and protective shoes
May require training at various locations
May require overnight travel (5-20 nights per year)
